October Green Smoothie Challenge

I got a new Vitamix Blender for Mother's Day this year. My husband didn't mind getting it for me, to replace my Waring Xtreme Blender that was 7 years old. There was one stipulation, that I try to sell my bread making equipment on eBay to try to offset the cost. Well I was more than happy to do that.

I am not new to making Green Smoothies. In fact when I was 100% Low Fat Raw Vegan that was one of my staples, but my Waring just wasn't cutting it as far at the smoothness and texture, so I got away from using it.

Needless to say, when I opened my new Vitamix Blender, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I think I used it 30 times in the first 7 days! That started me off on a Green Smoothie Challenge. It was very enjoyable and lasted well into mid July. As the summer wore on I wasn't digging the idea of chugging down a green smoothie everyday, even with ice in it. Watermelon and cantaloupe became way more appealing after my morning workouts.

Today I decided to follow The Blender Lady, Leann Anderson Savage's lead and do another challenge.

Today's smoothie, while refreshing, wasn't the best. I added a wedge of lime, and it was too big, making it sour and a bit off putting, even when adding a bit more banana to try and sweeten it up. Note to self, small lime wedge, if I choose to use.

Any way, I know its not yet October, but I thought I would get a jump start.

Won't you join me?

Welcome to my blog!

I’ve been putting this off for what seems like forever. So many ideas flowing through my head, but not sure which direction to take it. So finally I realized thinking about doing something never amounts anything more than thinking. So here I am writing my very first blog entry.
What’s my blog all about? Well I am passionate about healthy things. Healthy eating, healthy living, healthy habits. Health resides in the truth or reality. The problem is there is a lot of information out there presented as healthy and truthful that ranges from true, to partly true, all the way to utterly false and harmful. I love to get to the truth. I want my readers to know what they are doing is right for their bodies, lives and overall well being.
So won’t you come with me on my journey to find out what is healthy and true?
